The hut was fully rebuilt in 1993 but subsequently destroyed by the 2006 Great Divide wildfire. The hut was again rebuilt in 2008. Located on Clear Hills, the site offers unrivalled and spectacular views over the surrounding high country. The camping area is located on Clear Hills Tk 200m to the South-East of the Craigs Hut carpark. It is suitable for tents and offroad campervans. A perfect spot to stop and have a rest on your tour along Ciruit Road, the historical Craigs hut with views over the alpine valley around you makes for a stunning backdrop.
